Dan's Plans

So, i tested the canned gravy.
Bitter and nasty.
What a let down.

However, the rice dish survived.
Instead of the gravy, i put chicken soup broth powder.
I sent a bit with the missionaries.
I cooked 2 batches. The only difference with the second batch,
is that it has sliced beef wieners in it too.
For smokey meaty flavor.

Tonight at around 6:35pm i will be attending the
Jehovah’s witness zoom meeting.
Not that i approve of JWism,
but there is still value in it.
And when the covid stuff lets up,
we can have bbqs at the part again.
We used to visit as a congregation,
once every 2 weeks.
I thought so, anyway.

That is the update for my plans for now.

Tomorrow [monday] Andrew Bachelder will be visiting with me.
If things go according to plan.
He is one of my LDS friends.
I consider him a pretty good example of a real philosopher.
He cares about the truth deeply.

I’m going to offer him meatball rice
and standard rice.
I’ll see which one he would prefer.

I’ll probably go to the grocery store before our visit.
If so, i will probably get some sides for the rice.
Maybe some drinks, if i have room in my back pack.

Wish me luck!

2:24am,
looks like i wont be sleeping for a while.
Gotta keep busy somehow.

Andrew’s wife needed the car for a doctor appointment on monday.
So we rescheduled for friday at noon / 12.
I’m looking forward to seeing him in 2 hours.

For the food :
Veggie rice, meatballs, and chili.
Mix and match.
There is also cheese.
I accidentally bought vegan cheese,
but it doesn’t taste bad so ill have it as an option.
I also have orange juice as the drink.

Andrew liked my veggie rice an 8 / 10.
He liked the meatballs 7.5 / 10.
And the tims canned chili was a 5.

I hope i remembered right.

He did most of the talking.
But I enjoyed his presence.

Appearantly a lot of the food in Britten is crap.

Dan food is pretty decent compared to the other foods of the world.
I think so anyways.
Just guessing here.

I can testify to Britain being the home of a lot of bad food. I mean there’s lots of good food too. But generally, it’s not a good food culture.

My friend JC is coming over at around 4:00pm my time.
I will cook pierogies, sour cream, beef wieners, cabbage and onions.
Also for drinks ill make orange tang since i just got a lot of that at the dollar store today.
I’ll start cooking at around 3:00pm i figure.

I cooked early, but he got off of his appointment early too.
We talked about life, social situations.
He liked my rendition of perogies.
I plan to help him out again with food on Sunday.
This time, rice will be made.

I just finished making a big tub of rice with sauce and veggie.

I put it in the fridge to cool.
Once cool, i will freeze the whole thing.
Then on sunday, ill deliver it to JC.
I’m pretty sure he will like it.
I ate a bit of it already, and to me it is fine.

I filled up my new roaster with beef, potatoes, onions, garlic, broccoli, cauliflower, veggie juice, and later ill prepare the sour cream.
Some time tonight it will be ready.
At around 12 tomorrow morning i will drop off the goods for JC.
I also will bring tea. He loves herbal tea.
So now that I know that, i can drop off supplies like that.

I got home recently.

Monique gave me a ride to JC’s home.
It was not very far away.
I brought the roast with veggie.
He ate 2 bowls full. I had just 1 bowl.
He rated it 8/10.
which isn’t bad,
but i aim for 9s and 10s.

We talked about life stuff.
He lead the conversation but i had some things to also say.

_
Soirées, are the best… food/drink and good talk. What was the topic/s of conversation?

The dinner sounded divine… would have been good, accompanied by wine.

Books, employment, religion, tea, shopping.
I don’t remember very well.

Well enough, it seems… likewise it seems that good conversation was had.

Over the next few weeks, I plan to make a Mexican chilli, cauliflower cheese, a Winter-vegetable gratin, wheat/tomato-free pizza, tandoori chicken, and whatever other dishes come to mind.

All great ideas.

I’m going to make something good soon.

I accidentally missed LDS church this morning.
I was sleeping.

Next time i’ll get it.

Also the roast i made for JC and his relatives
didn’t last a day even. The 6 kids eat up everything.

I might go with rice again.
I might even use the big roaster for rice.
The roaster is so big.
Normally i used a regular large pot and cooked it full of rice twice.
But that may be down to cooking just 1 mega serving,
instead of 2 large servings.

Tomorrow i plan to complete the rice cassarol.
After that, i plan to serve up chili with cheese and bread.
I’ll use canned beans instead of cooking my own, this time.

Edward rated my rice 8.5 tonight.
But he rated the hot dog a 10.
He seems to have different tastes than i had expected.
But it was Juicy Jumbo All Beef Wieners,
and dempsters hot dog buns.
So maybe the quality level was high.

I just potted some potatoes.
I put the oven on low and left it upstairs.

I plan to have a quesadilla type dish,
but with potatoes in place of a tortilla.

I been having all-nighters here.
Not sleeping much.
It’s kind-of lonely, but i have a lot of time to think.

I plan to visit with Jared Bachelder tomorrow,
semi-early in the day.
First i want to buy him lunch at Wendy’s.
Next i want to load up on good deals,
at the dollar store near the Wendy’s.

Besides this id like to have some conversation, too.

If this does not work,
i will try again later.

Jared also wants Andrew to visit so the 3
of us will be going to A&W some time after monday.

JC is back. So we will have an eat and a visit,
tomorrow at around 4:30 / 5:00. [Saturday]
