It’s a well know solution to seizures; ADHD and other cerebral problems.
I wonder if there was not some other cause in your case?
Could have neglected electrolytes,
If s/he has been diabetic then could be a problem with gluconeogenesis.
If transitioning from a glucose/insulin diet too quickly this might not give time to achieve a balance.
So if there was contributory link it’s less about how long on ketosis but not being used to it.
As babies we were all born in a state of ketosis but drop out of it as we are stuffed with carb high modern foods, that were not available to our hunter/gatherer ancestors. but we adapt to the carb high diets. It can take a while to get back to “normal”.
When he went off the keto diet, the seizures stopped. I don’t know the details, because it was after we were divorced, and I don’t ask for details.

I said, babies are born into ketosis. Babies use ketones for energy, from the high fat content of milk, and also the carb energy from Lactose.
Ketosis is not an absolute.
