Fuck you god

.

How has your taste in females changed, from then to now, Ecmandu?

Perhaps it was the type of female that you were going for back then that was the problem and not you?

Mags

She may have a point, E. That’s what you get for fuckin’ with them triflin’-ass hos.

Looks like @Ecmandu is avoiding this thread…

A touchy subject, for him:thinking:

You are still wrong

Boy, that’s quite the angry little diatribe there Kropotkin.

However, did you ever consider the possibility that much of the “mythological nonsense” written in the Bible (by ancient minds) doesn’t quite offer an accurate description of God?

Indeed, I tried to demonstrate (via the illustration below) just how absurd and evil God would have to be if Christianity’s concept of Heaven and Hell (as depicted in the Bible) was true…

(Double click on the image to expand in order to read the captions)

It is utterly ridiculous to believe such nonsense.

The point is, you need to stop imagining that such evil actually exists.

So, what is an accurate descrition of God please.
And how do you know?

God is simply the fully-evolved, fully-developed, fully-matured, (“fully-fruitioned”) “adult” version of what we (our minds) are.

As I am a fan of creating metaphorical visuals to supplement that claim, then this…

…is not only an accurate (metaphorically speaking) description of what God is, but also of what we are relative to God.

I explain how I know…

(or at least how I think I know, for nothing can be proclaimed with 100% certainty)

…in a thread titled…

“My “Burning Bush-like” encounter with God”

…located on the Philosophy Now site: https://forum.philosophynow.org/viewtopic.php?p=685773#p685773

That is not “god” though is it?

You asked for an “accurate” description of God, and I provided what I believe that to be.

What’s the problem?

How is what I described “not God”?

In thinking about this, I have a surprising result
between man and one’s prayer to god…

What do we pray for? for most, we ask for personal
matters, better health or perhaps winning the lottery,
or the health of another loved one…

but in thinking about this, what we have here is part
of what has been called ‘‘transactional’’… you give
god validity by praising him, and in return one gets
something… either health or wealth or rarely wisdom…
but that prayer in return for action from god is transactional…
not transformational… quid pro quo within prayer is
transactional…

but for me anyway, god isn’t about the transactional…
in return for my prayer, I get… god and religion should
be, should be transformational…

Transformational: relating to or involving transformation
or transformations…

In our dealing with god, we are or should be transform…
and yet, how many are actually engaged in god transactional,
as opposed to transformational…and I am sure there are plenty
here who will claim that their belief in god transformed them,
and yet, and yet, they engage with religion and the state,
transactionally… quid pro quo… the problem is that most
people can’t tell the difference…or even care… another
problem not taken seriously by people…

is your relationship with god, transactional or transformational?
if one is being honest, the vast majority of people relationship
with god is transactional… If I pray and believe and I will go to heaven…
that is transactional, not transformational…a quid pro quo…

I don’t believe life is transactional, but life is transformational…
which puts me at odds with just about every single ism in
the world today…

so, are you living transactional or transformational?

Kropotkin

It is logically very difficult to avoid not giving God the blame for all the bad and evil shit in the world, since he wants the credit for all the good in the world.

Sure, maybe he has a larger plan, maybe it only seems bad/evil from our limited finite viewpoint but in reality after death everything is all good and suffering while alive on earth is basically meaningless or some kind of karmic good.

Or maybe the whole muh free will thing, this is the best possible world and logically even God is bound to this place he made with his infinite love for us all, and he cries every day having to send people to hell just for being born into this weird place where their particular circumstances compelled them to never have a chance at heaven.

Or maybe God didn’t make this place, even if he does exist. Or, maybe God is happy to take the blame along with the praise, and doesn’t really care that much about human suffering due to the imperfections and weird temptations, pains and bad luck some people happen to have through no fault of their own. While others are luckily born into good conditions in Christian societies and with better genes and have fortunate life experiences and get to live a great life and then a perfect eternity when they die.

Who knows, we can’t really guess at the motives or feelings of God, assuming God exists in some way that we could hypothetically relate to in our own concepts and understanding. But we can at least be honest about the range of possibilities logically-speaking, including the ones that contain ridiculous contradictions, irrational emotionalism and hypocrisies on our part.

Not just “good,” but wonderful beyond our wildest dreams.

And that goes for all humans, no matter who you are or what you’ve done while on earth.

And that’s basically why the truth of our ultimate form and eternal destiny must be kept hidden from us in order to keep us from longing for it or seeking it out prematurely.

I mean, how much larger can God’s plan for us be than each of us being imbued with the same potential and capabilities as God by reason of us being her (his/its) literal familial “offspring”?

Yeah I suppose if we knew, we would all immediately kill ourselves to get there.

It is ideosyncratic and has nothing to do with any, I mean ANY, meaning that god has had for thousands of years.
It just some stuff you dragged out of your head.
It seems fine you have a right to invent what you want but its pointless using a word already in use.

For example: Let me define a Sports Car.
A Sports Car is a two-wheeled, human-powered vehicle with pedals, a frame, handlebars, and a seat, used for transportation, exercise, and recreation.
Now I want you to accept this as the perfect defintiion of a sports car.

Again, I thought you wanted me to offer-up what I believe is an “accurate” description of God?

How does dragging this…

…or this…

…or this…

…out of my head, diminish the logic of what I am suggesting?

LOL. You kidding?

What is that supposed to mean?

Kidding about what?

“Logic”

Please demonstrate!
My guess is that you do not know what it is. And it should be a minimum requirement for a Philosophy Forum.

You don’t seem to have the slightest understanding of what my theory entails. So, how in the world can you be so sure that it is not logical, at least when compared to other theories regarding God?

Here’s me trying to be “logical” about God in a short excerpt from my video lecture series that aired for 7 years on public access television in Grand Rapids, Michigan back in the 90s…

Now I’m not suggesting that I can’t be wrong, but I at least try to be, again, “logical” in what I am proposing.
