human nature and love

As for the business of helping others it is one of the greatest monopolies ever especially if you are a government. Get people dependent on a system eventually enslaved by it and then stamp a nice bullshit propaganda piece on how you’re helping them where you are such a great example of humanity for doing so.

Without financial incentives or material gain and influence? I don’t think so.

Why can’t helping people be an incentive in itself?

If you volunteer your time to help build other people their homes, such as at Habitat for Humanity, there is NO financial incentive for you. You get no money. That’s just a fact.

And besides that, I think you’re missing the point of my first post in this thread.

this guy just wants to argue…I want more out of this thread…

Then it is a publicity stunt meant to create financial incentives in the later future. Nobody does anything for “free” out of the goodness of their hearts and for the most part nobody gives a shit about total strangers in our nepotist world.

Is this thread not about human nature? Yes, I like to argue my opinions around. That is usually what happens when you are describing a point on a subject.

People do not now, or in the future, get financial incentives for volunteering their time to build other’s homes.

Yeah, sure they don’t…

It’s a fact. Try it for yourself.

I am not a carpenter.

You don’t have to be, to hammer nails and saw wood. In any case, you can do general labor, carrying wood, helping lift walls, etc.

Think I can get a television show with it?

Most people don’t.

this thread is about love not hate…there certainly is hate out there…plenty of it…is it harder to talk about love…
the instinct for species survival includes nurturing and protecting…we love…
what is the problem here…

Volunteers at soup kitchens and hospitals generally don’t get any sort of compensation either.

who at the present time is showing love not hate…how can you know when love is involved…

Love is the glue that binds our relationships. Being human, we cannot love without motive. But motives can be altruistic. “All we need is Love”–speaks volumes about how we can improve the human condition.

Sure, in a purely nepotist framework people care about one another , but fuck the total stranger and his family. They can go live in the ghetto.

No incentives at soup kitchens? Ha!

  1. Get into heaven free card with “god” watching down from high all pleased , not to mention in your inner circle you can brag about your pious virtuous bleeding heart that you have and exclaim what a model citizen you are by comparison to everybody else.

  2. Actually a lot of those so called volunteers are forced to do that by the courts as a part of their mandatory community service.
