Know your history.
Sad to say, the history of ancient Israel as a nation is not a very bright one. God made a covenant with His people, but this covenant was broken time and time again. Prophets and preachers were sent to Israel, but most of the time they were ridiculed and even persecuted by their own people.
He had sent prophet after prophet, but they had rejected each one.
Jewish people can still be “God’s chosen people” as much as anyone else, if they choose to follow Jesus as the Messiah as predicted in the Old Testament.

Yeah, I can honestly say the Jews would never submit to Jesus, the things said in the Talmud about Christians isn’t very flattering about them either.

Can either of you quote nasty passages from it? Ive heard many bad things about it for a long time, but it is very long, cant keep my attention, all Ive found in it are extremely tedious prescripts and debates about prescripts for proper worship and living. E.g.
Imagine living by thousands of such prescriptions and considerations. Strange hardship.
Edit - I do find some quotes online about Jesus being a sorcerer who caused people to sin.
I find other references of gnarly punishments for Jesus, but no source texts. Anyway it is not likely that many Jews, or muslims for that matter, will convert to Christianity. But that was already clear.
I can’t say I believe what you wrote, pleading naivety about the Talmud.
It is common knowledge how dastardly, wicked and cruel the book writes about the Messiah.
I think you are very familiar with the Torah and the Talmud, but plead 'innocence" to encourage others to express their thoughts.

I have absolutely no interest in reading the Talmud, never have. The few times I tried, to gain some perspective on what was said about it, I found it completely unreadable.
Ive only read parts of the Torah. Read half the New Testament. Found it boring.
I have a Jewish, but utterly secular father, who is a physicist and processor architect. He never bothered me with any Jewish lore, as his father, who became atheist in his youth, never bothered him.

By the way I think it is nonsense to believe in Jesus without believing in the supernatural, the resurrection. I think the culling of the religion to exclude the crucial, the divine part of it is the reason the other religion stands to win the war in the end, and reduce (western) mankind to slavery. Without the resurrection, Jesus’ entire reason for being, he is nothing more than some kind soul of which there are millions. The rationalists Jesus doesn’t stand a sliver of a chance.
Claiming your father is Jewish and I presume your mother is not, as you have never mentioned her, if this is the case you would not be “considered fully Jewish in religious terms”, as the matrilineal descent is passed down through the mother.
