That’s antisemitic.
It will pass or a law just like it and similar will afterward. You’ll see.
Yes, what right do us plebs have to choose to boycott something? Obviously we must be forced to give our money to anything the government deems important. Freedom and individual rights be damned.
In America, you have no right to not like Israel, and you have no right to not give them your money. Way to go “Maga”-tards. Your orange deity, Big Daddy Warpspeed at it again with the accelerated cultural and moral-philosophical collapse of America. Just like under Biden, Obama and every other president since.. whenever. The Uniparty strikes again. And I bet all the Trumptards here will love the idea of “anti-semitism” laws. Because anything their orange deity says must be accepted enthusiastically and without question. Freedom, individual rights, the Constitution be damned.
The political right-wing, more conservative earthy voters in America (the silent majority so-called) were always our last hope to reverse course and save us and our future. Then all of you sold that down the drain along with your critical thinking and ethical standards, and for what? Some billionaire who makes funny tweets.
What would Rabbi Yeshua do? Neoconservatives in a nutshell.
Know your history.
Sad to say, the history of ancient Israel as a nation is not a very bright one. God made a covenant with His people, but this covenant was broken time and time again. Prophets and preachers were sent to Israel, but most of the time they were ridiculed and even persecuted by their own people.
He had sent prophet after prophet, but they had rejected each one.
Jewish people can still be “God’s chosen people” as much as anyone else, if they choose to follow Jesus as the Messiah as predicted in the Old Testament.
Yeah, I can honestly say the Jews would never submit to Jesus, the things said in the Talmud about Christians isn’t very flattering about them either.
Well yeah. The Talmud makes even the Muslim Hadith look like an episode of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.
Can either of you quote nasty passages from it? Ive heard many bad things about it for a long time, but it is very long, cant keep my attention, all Ive found in it are extremely tedious prescripts and debates about prescripts for proper worship and living. E.g.
Imagine living by thousands of such prescriptions and considerations. Strange hardship.
Edit - I do find some quotes online about Jesus being a sorcerer who caused people to sin.
I find other references of gnarly punishments for Jesus, but no source texts. Anyway it is not likely that many Jews, or muslims for that matter, will convert to Christianity. But that was already clear.
I can’t say I believe what you wrote, pleading naivety about the Talmud.
It is common knowledge how dastardly, wicked and cruel the book writes about the Messiah.
I think you are very familiar with the Torah and the Talmud, but plead 'innocence" to encourage others to express their thoughts.
Enlighten the viewers here.
Give some examples of these “unflattering” mentions in the Talmud, for those who are ignorant of the fact.
I have absolutely no interest in reading the Talmud, never have. The few times I tried, to gain some perspective on what was said about it, I found it completely unreadable.
Ive only read parts of the Torah. Read half the New Testament. Found it boring.
I have a Jewish, but utterly secular father, who is a physicist and processor architect. He never bothered me with any Jewish lore, as his father, who became atheist in his youth, never bothered him.
Through Crowley I did become a student of the kabbalistic Tree of Life. Now that made sense to me. Dimensional explosion. This was the first mystical text that I read and appreciated;
Eventually I recorded some lectures.
For those who have an hour spare this is essential watching.
An unequal system of rights and justice!
By the way I think it is nonsense to believe in Jesus without believing in the supernatural, the resurrection. I think the culling of the religion to exclude the crucial, the divine part of it is the reason the other religion stands to win the war in the end, and reduce (western) mankind to slavery. Without the resurrection, Jesus’ entire reason for being, he is nothing more than some kind soul of which there are millions. The rationalists Jesus doesn’t stand a sliver of a chance.
Claiming your father is Jewish and I presume your mother is not, as you have never mentioned her, if this is the case you would not be “considered fully Jewish in religious terms”, as the matrilineal descent is passed down through the mother.
…and yet you still claim to be a Jew. (which you have done on a philosophy forum) I don’t remember which one.
The Crowley, Aleister?
who was a practitioner of “magick” (as he spelled it) and called himself the Beast 666.
nuff said.
“Claiming” my father is Jewish? I am telling you. I might have indeed referred to myself as Jewish, as of course I do associate with Jewishness as I love my father and his ancestors. That obviously trumps for me what Jewish law says about me. Im spiritually a pagan, blood from both sides matters to me.
What are you on about that I never mentioned my mother? I certainly have, in threads about Odin among other places.
His mom called him “The Beast”, which is why he adopted that title. It spoke to his spiritual freedom.
I would recommend you read some of the essays that I linked to - but you wont (and honestly they would not be comprehensible to you) - here is the dedication:
The Mind of the Father

of relentless fire.

Good news by the way, an Iranian journalist in the Netherlands reported that more and more Iranians are moving back to Zoroastrianism. They even have a prince that they want to replace the Ayatollah with. Maybe in the future. Lets hope Israel/Trump doesn’t go to war with them.
Your mother is Jewish?
No, that should be obvious if you had followed any of the logic. She is Dutch, from shipbuilder descent, given her character, possibly Viking.
So that makes me an explosive, rather complex breed.
