I'm More Christian than You

Generalizations… tsk tsk!

:sunglasses:

See, the chest beating has begun :-"

You’re not getting away with that!!! :evilfun:

Wait… =;

[-o< calmly and quitely You’re not getting away with that, you ol’ chap. [-o<

1rst guy - “I’m more born again than you are…”

2nd guy - “No you’re not… I was dunked further under the water than you’ll EVER be…”

1rst guy - " Nuh uhhh… my middle NAME is water! "

2nd guy - “Oh yeah… well… I’m still more born again than you are! I was born again sooooo much that no one can ever be as born again as I am!”

Shotgun - “Well… my heart has been regenerated by the monergistic quickening of the Holy Spirit…further more, I don’t think either of you are really taking into account what being “born again” is really all about… I think you’re just discussing something in terms of guy 1’s false presuppositions.”

Guy 1 and 2 - "…Ohhh no…we can assume that being “born again” means ones ability to adhere to certain standards! We don’t have to read or allude to ANY of the classical works written on this subject (like William Wilberforce’s “Real Christianity”) We can just banter back and forth within the matrix of our own straw man definition of “born again,” an argument based on which one of us performs more “works” than the other… forgetting that being “born again” has nothing to do with a mans works, but rather his state before God.

Shotgun - Well… shucks… I guess I can’t argue with that… God bless!

…of course I can say that “I’m legally a Christian” See, I said it!

But seeing that the name Christian is just a name and not a thing in itself: I will accept a draw, or I’ll call for you to be disqualified on the aforementioned basis! [-(

OK, so calm chest tapping and fingering has begun… Is that better? :sunglasses:

I’m not a Christian in anything but name. The point of this thread was to get Christians in here to assume what I was talking about and argue with me on any number of points, which you did AFTER I already laid that fact out. Oh god that’s rich

cough cough

I thought you had renounced your wicked ways, Zealot.

There is nothing wicked about worshipping the Holy Father. We who know the truth know that His love is the greatest of all. Those who deny this are abominations and should be burned at the stake.

Oooooh goody get the marshmallows. Zealot is ready to BBQ longpork again! Can someone find him a new hobby?

I see you ignored my logical retort, Anthem!

Yes yes. I was also going to be much more civil when this thread was still in the religion section. Since it was moved, I really see no point in being too kind. That, and I really did hold back on that respone, even if it doesn’t look like it.

The point was to make people think outisde the box, especially Christians. They don’t always know what they’re talking about when it comes to being a Christian, essentially. There’s more stuff in the universe than we could ever know, either just be its vastness, or even by someone intentionally witholding information, like I did.

Unless…you’re trying to take the bet too…naw…

Magsj: I’m working on a secondary point to this thread. You can’t win an argument with someone who refuses to be logical. I win

The point of my post, was to show how uninformed many people who try to speak about Christianity really are. I think I did so in a humourous way.

How rich it is indeed to be able to talk about the great things that my God has done, (while simultaneously correcting certain uneducated assumptions about my own faith!)

God bless you guys / gals!

…a secondary point, huh! I look forward to it

If you want to win on an illogical technicality, then go for it, Anthem :unamused:

 you know I only jest with you - I’m sure we’re both deserving Christians? :-"

Don’t lie. It’s unbecomming of a Christian.

God damn you! :-"

Do you mean, unbecoming of someone who is named Christian?

Or unbecoming of someone, in my position, who has a regenerated heart, and has been born again, and who, despite his many failures in this life, has the righteousness of Christ imputed to him, and has had these “failures” redeemed through the slain body of his savior?

 Mercy & Justice? You are very droll. =D>

 Well, its not the spider’s fault it found my skin worth biting. I blame the maker
