Trump has a limited lifespan within the system, so he thankfully won’t be around for much longer. What will he be replaced by and what will the agenda be? Who knows.
I’m not complaining Gary, I’m observing. If any of my points are not valid, then please address them instead of generalising.
Well what effect is it having apart from influencing approval ratings? Does it alter his behaviour or policy? I’m more interested in how he got there in the first place, because that’s where the problem lies, he’s just a symptom of a deeper malady, he is obviously highly useful to certain people, and those people hold a lot of power. That interests me much more than Trump.
A conservative reactionary? Both words describe me extremely poorly, but I can see you like to jump to conclusions. And by the way, calling someone a useless idiot when you run out of arguments is really just stomping off in a temper, children do that.
I describe behavior. If there’s more to you than that, then you’ll have to demonstrate how you’re right. So far I’ve pointed out that you are wrong and you seem unwilling to back down.
Where have you pointed out I’m wrong? You’ll have to reiterate, I seriously didn’t notice. I don’t even think you’re arguing over the same thing I am, you’re just emotionally charged because I pointed out that going on the internet and voicing disgust is an ineffective way to incite change. Present solutions, we know Donald Trump is a huge disaster, but are approval ratings going to change anything before he has to lawfully leave office?
As I clearly stated criticism is a motivator for political action if it holds ground. Do you not accept that?
It doesn’t matter what Trump thinks if he thinks he’s right to antagonize and intimidate enemies who are pretty much right about his behavior. Do you think his critics need to change his mind before they are successful in their criticism?
No, not anymore. Most of the world is critical of Donald Trump, no political action has been realised as a result of that. Perhaps back in the days of Nixon or something, but not today.
He can antagonise them because their opinions don’t really affect him in the slightest. No significant potion of public opinion will change his mind, about anything, there is only one group he listens to, and they are the ones telling him what to do. They don’t go online and voice their opinions, quite the opposite, and they are above criticism because they are largely not visible in the public eye, unlike Donald Trump. Trump is there to draw attention and criticism, that’s his job.
Criticism has no effect on political action? None whatsoever. People shouldn’t criticize the Trump administration because it’s a waste of time?
And since you don’t believe negative public opinion is having any effect on things, it’s a waste of time to express any. All we can do “sit back and watch the show”.
If the crowd at the sports event cheers or boos, no matter how loudly, does it have an effect on the outcome of the game? No, they would have to run onto the field and disrupt it that way, it’s the only thing that would affect the final score.
If people voted against the athletes to return to the next game or boycotted the stadium it would have some effect. And if it got bad enough and people started tearing down the stadium it would have some effect. Do you really think a sports event is equivalent to a democratic election? If we quell all the “booers” is that going to have any effect at all aside from being a passive vote of approval?
The metaphor referred to Trump’s presidency. I’m not saying to quell all the booers, it’s important that people are agreed on what is right and wrong, but, if the booers are indignant with me because I’m not booing along, then they don’t understand my motivations.
I want to know why he is useful to the power structure and what the greater agenda is. I don’t think Trump is deciding anything, he talks nonsense, but that keeps people very busy. You keep watching the magicians assistant, I’ll keep my eye on his hands. We are not working at cross purposes just because I’m not wearing the football jersey. Everyone looks for solutions in their own way.
