Please allow me to address the modern revisionist lies that Muslims killed X million people, or enslaved X million people.

INDUSTRIAL SLAVERY IS A SLUR AGAINST A NOBLE PEOPLE:

Islam was a revolution in human-ness. There were no knights before Islam, because Muslims were the first. They were the originators of chivalry. To attribute such enormities to Muslims is unfair and is a sign of the times, when people seek to justify the horrific mass murder of Muslims.

The origin of these tall tales originate from Israeli / Orientalist academics and from them, are popularised by right wing firebrands, and via repetition, enter the mainstream and are taken as fact and espoused by both right and left in the secular world. And so today the Israeli stooge Tommy Robinson is parroting these lies on social media.

These lies have directly caused massacres of Muslims in post-Colonialist Africa after Israel was created. Provocateurs based in Europe would, without a sense of irony, accuse “Arabs” of enslaving the black Africans. In Islam, “Arab” ceased to be a race, it became a linguistic group. Anybody speaking Arabic was an Arab. However, the provocateurs would portray the growing Muslim populations of Africa who spoke Arabic, as racially Arab, regardless their appearance as mostly obviously black Afircan (this is done in Sudan today too), and they would tell the black non-Muslim Africans that the Muslims “did it”.

The local black population were lied to and told that the ruling light skinned Persians, Arabs, and mixed Africans were slave traders and oppressors. The black rebels did as they were told and committed mass murder and mass rape. They did not need telling twice because they preferred lighter skinned women to their own women and they wanted to loot and rape.

The slavery slur was a lie. There was slavery in the Islamic world but it was not a means to an end, it was not an industry as it was in Europe, with Muslims it was only a by-product of war, whereby survivors (captive soldiers, and broken families etc) were not killed nor left to fend for themselves and in fact slaves often rose to high stations in the Islamic world, as Islam teaches kindness to slaves. The Qur’an literally forbids Muslims from taking slaves for the sake of slavery. Slaves can only be taken as a by-product of war, after the motions of war have been totally done with i.e. great slaughter has been made first. Muslims are not to go into a country without just cause e.g. a just war. They are not allowed to enter a country just to take slaves.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also said minor Signs of the Day of Judgement would include what appears to foretell the rise of European pirates using the Cat o’ Nine Tails, which has a frayed ending designed to cause intense pain. I wonder if it might even have been used to whip multiple people with one strike e.g. slaves bound together in a line, or slaves bound together rowing in a galley, or just to punish the crews of sailing ships used for the slave trade:

They would have lasted a few weeks / months before being worked to death right? So divide 300 years by this lifecycle and then multiple by the number of slaves in one ship. Then multiply by about 1,000 ships. The result is tens of millions of Europeans enslaved, and killed or stashed away for breeding programmes perhaps, in Muslim huts. I have actually seen calculations along those lines.

It’s utter garbage. Are you European? Do you have any ancestors that were taken as slaves within the past 300 years? You certainly SHOULD have tales suviving to the present day if what must have been about a quarter of Europe’s population were daft enough to get captured by old Redbeard.

As for these Barbary pirates, they were a bunch of renegade Europeans and Algerians. They did capture a small number of Europeans. This was done to ransom them. They were not worked to death en masse, they were captured in small numbers for ransom money.

As you can see from that Wiki article, it is quite likely that the Barbary raid on Ireland was a Hiberno-Norse Irish nobleman paying some Dutch and Algerian guys to evict some English Puritan settlers off his land.

For centuries the Armenians of the Ottoman Empire were known as the “Privileged Millat” i.e. privileged community. That’s because, along with Greek Orthodox Christians, their merchants were given control of international trade, and this was highly lucrative. Also, I’ve heard that in criminal cases, priority was given to catching anybody that attacked and robbed Christian merchants.

Even going back to the Crusades, the Armenian Katolikos would personally report to the Muslim Sultan on the whereabouts of Crusading armies.

Why would the Ottoman Turks massacre Armenians? In fact the events occurred after the Young Turk revolution of 1908. The Ottomans opened up their empire to Jewish refugees from the Reconquista in Spain and then pogroms in Europe. The Young Turks were Masonic Jewish Turks (I think from the Donme community) from Ottoman Salonica, now Thessaloniki in Greece. Their motto was “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity”, taken from the French Grand Orient Masons who caused the French Revolution. Salonica was a great centre of Grand Orient Freemasonry.

Armenian genocide (1915-1917) stats increase year on year, currently at an upper estimate of 1.5 million dead, hey are soon set to exceed the total number of Armenians in Anatolia at that time (1.7 million in 1911). It occurred largely under the auspices of the Young Turk movement.

The Armenian genocide is a massive lie in many ways. Suffice to say you need to look at what the Zionists were doing with Ottoman lands in Palestine in the run up to it. Knowing the European powers were heavily scrutinising and trying to find a fault with them, the Ottomans decided to move the Armenian population toward what is modern day Armenia, to prevent them joining forces with invading forces. Some Armenians died en route, but during the breakup of the Ottoman Empire, millions of Slavic and Turkish Muslims were massacred in the most awful ways e.g. burning alive, and women survivors were found with sword injuries, that’s how callously they were treated. Dostoyevsky in Crime and Punishment made a good case about how brainwashed people cannot envisage life outside of their oppressive regime and will believe any lie that keeps them benighted. Yet in the same breath, he bullcraps and says Russians must fight the Ottomans because the Ottomans were impaling Christian babies on swords for fun!

CONCLUSION - THE LIE ACTUALLY SAYS MORE ABOUT THE LIAR:

Back to slavery: did you know that Jewish traders virtually monopolised the slave trade within the Ottoman Empire, as they did in Colonial Europe? As Friend of Israel, Right wing Tommy Robinson said, “you don’t read about that in schools”. No, we don’t do we.

This is not a Jew-bashing excercise. This is a defence of my religious community against deadly lies about Muslims enslaving or massacring millions upon millions of people, notably in ages past, when that amount of people would have been a quarter of a continent’s or over half of an ethnicity’s population. These lies are deadly, they are used as pretext for hate crimes against Muslim communities and people, these lies have frequently culminated in genocide, anti-Muslim massacres. These crimes arise from these lies.

I hope there can be some raprochement one day. I hope people can see that Muslims strive hard for nobility and put real effort into religious practice and this imparts varying degrees of nobility on us. Seems similar to the situation in the US, that a lot of the modern slavery is forced labor. About 75% of the slavery in the US today is prisoners doing forced labor in prisons. Since they are already legally in prison I would not usually think of that as “slavery”, although the statistics do reflect it.

That last part is good, at least showing that most of the slavery today is not based on religious reasons. Its just capitalist economics of forced and exploitative labor of the poor (which of course is just as bad as slavery based in religious reasons).

Dear sir, l feel you are plain ignoring the OP which was written in response to all that you are posting. You may be using academic sources but you have given no prooof.

“Place of War” means battlefield. Muslims only took captives from lands they were actively fighting against. These were not commercial endeavours in their own right.

You are ignoring all that l wrote in the OP, and replying purely to the title of the thread.

You have ignored the Qur’an quote explaining the proper use of slavery.
You have ignored the Prophetic hadith which FORETELLS THE CAT O’NINE TAILS 1,000 YEARS BEFORE IT WAS INVENTED, and says those using it, were under the curse of Allah from their leaving the house to their returning home, presumably because the moment they left their house, they were in the workplace i.e. on deck of a ship. THIS WAS LIKELY A CONDEMNATION OF EUROPEAN PIRATE SLAVE RAIDERS.

Note how Ottoman Turks mainly don’t look European, those that do, are descendants of migrants and refugees from the Balkans. If Muslims took so many slaves, they’d look partly black or partly white now, but Turks look like Turks, Arabs look like Arabs and those on the borderlands look mixed as they logically would.

You admit that slavery exists in USA prisons but then without inflection explain it away as “legal”. However, according to Islamic law, there isn’t a prison system as such, that is illegal. In Islamic law, they don’t let people fester in jails at vast public expense. Wrongdoers are punished swiftly, in public. Justice seen, justice done. So it could be said that the prison system is illegal and it does indeed use slave labour in the classical definition, and moreover, the slaves are gotten illicitly, not as a result of war.

Abstract: Hundreds of Hebrew written sources, dozens of official decrees, judicial records (sijillat), and reports of European travelers indicate that slaveholding – particularly of females of slavic origin – in Jewish households in the urban centers of the Ottoman Empire was widespread from the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries. This halachically and legally problematic habit was an unparalleled phenomenon in any other Jewish community in the early modern period. The presence of slaves in Jewish households effected family life in many ways. I dealt with two of them: The first is cohabitation of Jewish men with female slaves, usually non-Jewish, who in effect served as their concubines and bore them legitimate children; the second is marriage with manumitted slaves who converted to Judaism and became an integral part of the community.

^^^ the Israeli Jewish article explains that conversion to Judaism of Slavic females via slavery was widespread. By the way, it also claims this was how Muslims also did things but in fact it was very rare in Islam, most Slavic Muslims were converts already in their native lands.

That is one way Jews today have become European looking. But another reason is that a German merchant class from the north Germany and Baltics, converted to Judaism in order to get wholesale goods from the Silk Road via Jews in Muslim lands. That’s why they mercantile surnames e.g. Kaufmann etc. and speak Yiddish. They were always German to begin with. [Going off-topic a bit]

How would you explain that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) prophecied the Cat o’ Nine Tails, and hence likely European Slave Traders, 1,000 years before they came about. He said the bearers of these cruel whips were under the curse of Allah. This is not a reference to any Muslim invention obviosly! Peace :slight_smile:

Well I just gave you plenty of verifiable examples of things that are already well known. There are a lot of slaves in Islamic societies. That has been true in history and it is still true today. Guess what? It is also true in non-Islamic countries and societies. It is true almost everywhere, which is a sad fact about this world.

Slavery persists in the world. Islam is no exception. Muslims have been enslaving people and continue to do it, just like non-Muslims. That is basically the point I was making. I am not attacking Islam specifically, I understand slavery is fairly ubiquitous even today. If Islam itself was so profoundly anti-slavery then Muslims would not tolerate slavery in their societies, except they do.
