Locked In/Out (States)

Primer 1: States that happen at room temperature.

Primer 2: States that happen at other temperatures.

Question:

If any state is ruled out at any temperature for any particular element or molecule or subatomic particle — what does that imply? That something is locked in or out of a particular state(s) by its composition? How did it get locked into/out of that state or composition—neighborhood? Did it always/ever start out that way… and if not, why did it get locked in/out? Is it even possible to get locked in/out?

What in nature is impossible to denature (without losing function)?

What changes in nature increase function rather than denature (lose function)?

Are new functions gained …or just discovered/uncovered/recovered?

Recover. Weird word.
