This site is part of The Music Genome Project which set out to analyse music down to its ‘genetic’ structure. The aim was to organise and link similar types of music so people could explore styles they like.
Its a great way to hear new music.

I don’t know how to post links to music or where to find it on the internet. But you guys need to download some motown and some old miles davis. John Coltrane is also the man. I reccommend getting a bittorrent client and searching for discographies.
I went to youtube, all of those are just links to videos. That ‘library’ is pretty limited though, but there are tons of sites that run free streaming radio of almost anything you could want. You just have to look, it can be tricky at times, but the point is you do the work so I don’t have to
Yeah bittorrent is pretty sexy, I feel like the files are much bigger then they need to be sometimes though.
I got a terabyte harddrive for 300 bucks not too long ago. I’ve been dumping all the music I can onto it ever since. I think I’m now sitting on about 300 gigs of music. You can actually get certain programs to change the bit rate of your mp3s. 128kbps is cd quality. 96kbps is about the most you’ll get out of a set of speakers. If you don’t have any HD or high tech stereo equipment you might can shrink them to 64kbps and cut the file size in half without being able to tell that much of a difference in quality so long as it’s still better than your speakers will give you.
