I know this topic must already have been discussed here in the past. But since this place has been online since forever, it’s very tiresome to search for old threads here.

So, pornography has been very much maligned as of late, especially on the internet, as being ultimately damaging to the “wanker” as well as to the men and women actually doing it. Notwithstanding the fact that no one is innocent, and the actors and actresses behind the screen know what they’re doing and are being paid to do it.

But most YouTube videos on this topic are biased, and so are the comments of users, emphasizing a rather moralistic view on what is, essentially, just another entertainment industry designed for men to “alleviate” themselves.

So my question is, is there valid scientific evidence that pornography is damaging to the male brain? Does this over-exposition to people naked, and having sex, or doing whatever they can do in porn or fetish movies (we know they can go to any extreme) really do something to our minds, or, like most topics in today’s world, this one has just become another easy target?

Do we over-value or under-value pornography as something harmful to the user’s well-being?

Almost everything causes pain to the circumcised penis, even walking. Porn causes temporary soreness which increases the pain of circumcision.

In a sexually healthy society pornography is completely unnecessary, only in a sexually decadent society full of deprivation is pornography a staple of mass consumption.

What the capitalist does is divide up society into haves and have-nots and then sells porn to the have-nots when they can’t get laid.

The capitalist takes an already natural conflict existing for the species (males competing for females), augments it further, and then turns sex into a marketable industry to passify the failures in society he contributed to producing.

Surely, it’s an industry, a billion dollar industry, but we can look at it from many different angles.

For instance, it’s true, porn is directed mostly at wankers who can’t get laid. But these solitary men are not just a bunch of perverts, a minority. There’s a whole bunch of men who, absolutely, cannot get laid, for whatever reason. Either because they are ugly, poor, sick, you name it. So porn ends up being a escape valve. It’s common to refer to porn addicts as pervs, even degenerate specimens, but I don’t look at it that way. If all guys who can’t get laid decide to take some “poontang” by force, what’s the result? So to have an easily accessible escape valve might be socially useful.

Also, I don’t remember exactly who said it, maybe it was Freud, that sexuality is one last resort for the modern man when he wants to ascertain his individuality. Since porn comes in many different ways, a true self-service industry, one man and one girl, two girls, three girls, a whole army of girls, solo acts, bizarre acts, blacks, Asian, mixed race, old men and women, all types of paraphilia, you name it, it ends up offering much more than what we can possibly have in our usually monotonous sexual lives. Thus it is an expression of fantasy, a journey to the more exotic side of life, where you can fuck, in your imagination, the hot girl who would never even look at you in real life, or you can feel pleasure much more fulfilling than what you have with your all too square wife.

So, I don’t think it’s a black or white matter.

Sure.

My opinion is. Teenage and adult males that have testosterone, look at porn. Teenage and adult females also look at porn. My belief is that if a teenage or adult male has testosterone and looks at porn, this is a divine thing. Testosterone is a divine hormone that causes hype and empathy. I mean the word divine in both a secular and non-secular way, as a figure of speech.

What I mean by empathy is, mirror neurons like when a male looks at porn it is like they are actually there IRL in the room of the porn, because of male delusion. Male delusion is a healthy thing. Dr. Hoffman says delusion is an evolutionary advantage. We can have a concrete real world example which is religious people that believe in fairy tales, if you are also delusional like them you will be able to reproduce with their women, but if you are an atheist they probably will reject you.

Anyway, because of the testosterone and mirror neurons, and because males are more visual with their sexuality, the porn feels like IRL to the delusional high testosterone male. Only after many years of lonliness and cooming to porns then they grow bored of the porns and become lower testosterone, achieving “sobriety” and having decreased mirror-neuron empathy. Then it now feels like “watching” porns rather than “living” porns. They are more conscious and now realize they are a loser watching a computer screen, cause they gave up all hope in life.

So I feel that porn is not the underlying issue, but hypergamy is. Porn is more of a distraction a bread and circuses, or a duct-tape to fix the hypergamy. I feel that society needs better and better types of copes and porns, such as VR and haptics, I feel like people aren’t retarded anymore and no longer as content with merely a 2D screen.

I feel like robot waifus might have the pros and cons compared to VR haptics. Now here’s where it gets spiritual - I believe there is something divine about a real life relationship, there is a magical aura that extends outward, this is my spiritual belief. Not having a relationship is being cast out from heaven. Many religious say God is Love, therefore it is being cast out and denied. Many males are touch deprived and haven’t even touched a woman in years.

Now, to get a little off-topic. I have a more secular type of spirit concept as well. The inner spirit. (Last paragraph I was talking about the outer aura.) The inner spirit is how someone identifies as. Like if someone watches spiderman, their inner spirit will be spiderman. I believe the inner spirit is a physical geometric spirit, like a 3D overlay over their physical body, this could be in a secular way such as a generation of their mind, and doesn’t require a supernatural explanation. Now its off-topic because its a theory of trans-humanism… like if someone identifies as Spiderman its the same as any other transhumanist, its this same spirit overlay over their 3d geometry. When someone says they are a woman in a mans body they are referring to this spirit geometry. When someone LARPs as Spiderman, its the same spirit geometry. Do I believe that porn causes transsexualism or transhumanism? No, I was transhumanist before I ever watched my first porn.

The “very nature of females”? My mother is a female. She was never a porn actress. The very nature of some females would be a better way to put it.

I’m not actually a fan of porn insofar as knowing who all the directors or actresses are. I watch it every once in a while, but I’m not addicted. I could give up on it tomorrow and live fine.

Also, I “reinterpret” porn in my own way, it’s not actually what I’m seeing on screen that excites me, but my own imagination. That’s why I wrote above that porn works as a tool to instigate male fantasies, more than anything else.

Many men can’t, in fact, touch a woman. Pray to God you’ll never be one of those. So, porn is a escape valve. There’s nothing intrinsically bad about it.

So, I conclude that all these YouTube videos demonizing porn stem from nothing really substantial, as I have seen no serious scientific data proving porn is harmful to the male brain. The main point against porn is made by morality. Ultimately, it’s wrong to sell or buy sex, for whatever reason. The reason will never be fully explained, and porn will go on strong, as females get harder and harder to approach, and this peculiar solitary activity is all the more enticing because of it.

I see your point. A better way of putting it would be “the way capitalism interprets the role of a female”, as capitalism sees everything, males included, as merchandise.

Now, the males and females actually engaging in porn take advantage from it, there are no innocent children involved. So what’s a valid argument against it?
