This much is obvious. And more, porn objectifies females. But it does it with their smiling consent. They freely choose to do it, the more hardcore the better, they show they go further than the competition. So, who is being harmed? The guys watching it probably could never touch those girls in real life. They’re buying a compensation. The girls doing it are being well paid to do it, they belong to the privileged minority. Everyone ends up satisfied with the bargain.

Since so many men watch porn, I would think there would be some serious research showing the damage it does to their brains. There’s plenty of material for research. But, as I said, taken me as an example, if I never watched porn again I would not strongly miss it. My body would feel no serious side-effects. So, I’m leaving aside addiction, which is bad in any case, be it to porn or to Disney movies.

I’ve never paid for porn. I’ve never seen porn as some Capitalist conspiracy with a villian in a tower twirling their mustache seeking maximum profits. I’ve always seen it as a loser’s refuge, where the losers of the world unite and take refuge from an uncaring and cold universe. Many upload porn for free or because they are horny.

The theory that porn causes fetishes never resonated with me that much. It is because I had fetishes long before I ever watched my first porn. Genetics is the foundation for culture. Culture can in turn, influence genetics via epigenetics and through reproduction. For example, in hypergamy someone with high iq genes might have to date down and then dilute their genes. Likewise in other cultures a high iq might easier pair with another high iq.

In a certain way, you’re right, porn is directed at the solitaire loser who, for whatever reason, can’t get laid (a huge part of the male population btw) but that’s not all there is to it. As I said, you can watch in porn things you’d never do with your gf or wife. So, it can be a way to explore your fantasies, your fetishes, with almost no risk involved.

Ditto. I had my own fantasies even before I knew what sex was. Freud might know something about that. Now, porn can be as good a scapegoat as any. There’s zero evidence of it being a major cause for social problems. Rather, it’s an escape from such problems.

My definition of loser includes a. those who can’t get laid. b. Those who won’t get laid: many men could date down to a woman they are aren’t attracted to, but choose not to. and c. those who get laid but they are not that attracted to them so they watch porn or d. they were attracted to them at first but not as much anymore. or e. they have an attractive trophy wife BUT they work too much and have no more free time. Probably the amount of non-losers in society is less than 25% of the male population.

When I say Genetics is the foundation for culture it disproves the “porn causes fetishes theory”. The other part of what I said is in hypergamy males have less choice. So a high iq male might date down just to get laid, resulting in genetic decline of future generations. In societies without hypergamy the male might have more options and choose someone who is both physically attractive and matches their personality. Otherwise the male might date down to someone who is both less attractive and doesn’t match their personality.

Now, regarding the consequences. What’s seen on screen by avid porn lovers becomes a norm for the psyche, and failures in real-life sex are inevitable. The consequences are grim: endless searches for a partner who satisfies those fantasies, an inability to experience a genuine and full orgasm, the destruction of normal relationships, and, finally, sexual dysfunction.
