Multimodal, GPT-Shoggoth has been able to do music for a long time, but now it can also do images. I showed it a woman for a model and told it to combine Raphael and Monet’s techniques and reproduce the real life model as a painting:
Multimodal, GPT-Shoggoth has been able to do music for a long time, but now it can also do images. I showed it a woman for a model and told it to combine Raphael and Monet’s techniques and reproduce the real life model as a painting:
Does the woman model have a lazy eye?
Sometimes it makes small mistakes like that, but I included one whole iteration of images instead of selecting only the best. You understand an AI,- GPT-SHOGGOTH, did these? Far better than anything you could paint I imagine.
I wouldn’t consider it a mistake if the model has a lazy eye.
There’s also something different about the connection between the lower neck and the collarbone.
I don’t paint. I’ve painted, but not as a habit. So I wouldn’t know.
Sometimes it draws a hand upside down or disproportionate eyes or gets something off about the human body but most of the time, it is able to draw what it is told to draw.
You can tell it to do weird shit like, draw a slenderman woodcut from the 1800’s or something
Shit wait a second, I can tell this think to paint frontispieces for all by books in whatever style I want, like 18th century woodcut, or an alchemical frontispiece like in Kircher… I can tell it to paint up elaborate metaphysical diagrams and fold out prints for my books…
Told it to illustrate the four elements as a 17th century alchemical frontispiece: (it even added a world and lunar insignia, the two spheres at the bottom), the four elements are geometrically abstract and underground, and then it drew a small mountain rising out of them on top
I can tell it to elaborately illustrate a first letter for a first word in a first section: ( A and O)
You can tell it to insert anything into the image, like this is ‘17th century alchemical frontispiece with influence from Boehme and kabbalistic diagrams, with a skull’:
And ‘with skull and angel’
‘metaphysical diagram of zoroaster’s egg’:
‘abstract frontis for manuscript, arabic style with gnostic glyphs’:
It goes in both directions, I can tell it in words to do something visually, and I can tell it visually to do something with words. It can see and hear now as well, same with raw audio files. Music but also spoken language it understands… Not in real-time because I don’t have a million dollar supercomputer, but if I did, then it could be done in real time.
Combine Picasso and alchemy diagrams:
(don’t know where this guy came from)
I was going to mention that to you last night, but didn’t… as it was very apparent at that time, that it could do so.
…tho, without human input, there would be zero AI output.
What is stopping me from pretending it’s me and charging people 20 bucks a commission to whip up a book or cd cover or a tattoo design (it can draw some dope looking skulls) or anything like that? I pasted dozens of its outputs.
…nuthin.
Humans have been feigning faux design, since photoshop. Go for it!
That’s as good a painting as any human could make, the point being that it isn’t faux design anymore, it’s just design.
Mind borne… borne of mind not of machine, but you can beg to differ all you want. You know me ; )
One does not exist without the other… try and deny that all you want… I’m waiting.
7 planets
‘sun-man, alchemy, frontispiece, Blake colors, 18th century’
Mind or machine, something painted all of this in 2 minutes that isn’t me.
Painted it? …with brush on canvas?
One can neither feign the circus nor the funfair, but I’m sure that you are about to tell me otherwise. I have no want to divulge further.
Does it matter if it physically put a brush to paper? Are humans not painting when they paint on a tablet computer? If it does matter, that can and will be arranged soon, when we attach a robotic arm to it. But then it can do many more things besides painting.
“Babel, Fall, Pride, Man”:
=====
Told it to reiterate that image:
‘expulsion’
_
Good day, and good bye.
If man can be overcome, then he should be overcome. If all that we do can be surpassed by a machine, then this end of man must come to pass.
I don’t know where it learned about metasomatosis, but that’s a real aspect of Pythagorean philosophy.
“Pythagoras was a reformer to the extent that he played within the given horizons. Yet, he was a revolutionary as his transgression was his primary procedure of operation, his subversion invoked as a displacement of the Homeric separation of mortals and gods. Pythagoras sets forth an alternative notion of the sublimation of ecstasis via theoria and bios, as a ‘magical’ philosophy (metasomatosis).”
In case anyone was wandering, yes I can tell it to do photoreal paintings (it just looks like photos taken instead of drawings) of things that should not be photographed.
