The quantity of thought could be beneficial in terms of a greater externalization of ideas that aid experimental practice. Quality is undoubtedly superior in terms of intention, but the only problem is that in seeking “quality”, we are discriminating against aspects of thought that could be of quality, without realizing it.
So you’re saying with quantity, you might catch some quality on accident, whereas with quality, there are certain filters that may result in missing quality you didn’t notice.
Again, I put it back to the interlocutor… define quality. Do you have the quality it takes to make that quantity know they are loved? A quality person is looking for a quality person. Not a scattershot person.
And every human being is a quality human being, at least in terms of capacity. But if you go for quantity, you may catch some folks at a level of development that is going to bring down the entire operation.
It’s best to put the question inward about your own quality. Can you draw out a person’s capacity to develop their quality? That requires intention and investment and cannot be done scattershot. And if you’re going to be a good match, the desire to develop quality must be mutual.
You want to look for builders who will finish what they start. Not, say, abandon the operation to others before you even arrive.
You want someone who shows up, and when they are there, they are present.
And even when they are not there, they are thinking about how they will be there when they return. Almost like they never even left.
That is why I’m going to be a nun until God shows some sort of miraculous person with whom we will mutually develop quality.
I was thinking how the wages of sin is death (relational), and if you do the crime, you gotta be willing to pay the consequences (…time…etc). Forgiveness is costly. You die to the part of yourself that wants to hold on to the debt (karma)…and charge interest. Jesus was like no, even though Lex Talionis might be a fair trade that prevents overkill, you’re going to pay love to your enemy.
Talk about inverting the tables & flipping the script.
Talk about defying your programming… and rising up into your fullness.
Now (always) it is the unmerciful who are unforgiven — but only because they refuse (or are ignorant of) self=other forgiveness.
Ec… do you say no to costly forgiveness? Or (and so) do you exact punishment in your own mind? You only punish yourself. Well. And those with whom you could be having more healthy relationships if you got your head straight.
But who am I to talk?
We are both a mess that need a miracle. I’m a slow learner, but I know where true hope is found.
