Few things are more important to our national longevity, wellbeing, and security than well educated citizens. Nothing of such importance is so misunderstood and ignored in America.
I suspect that this important matter lacks sophisticated understanding by Americans because adult Americans had a poor education.
I claim that our education policy results from the intentionality of those who strongly affect public policy rather than misunderstanding by the citizens. I claim that the power of Corporate America greatly determines our public policy and thus our educational system, which is designed to graduate good producers and consumers.
I think that adult Americans must resist the temptation to store their critical intellect with their year-book in the attic when their school daze are over.

The financial deregulation that enabled them to bid ever larger amounts for houses in the best school districts essentially guaranteed a housing bubble that would leave millions of families dangerously overextended.”
Definitely increase their pay. Teaching is becoming less and less attractive for a whole host of reasons (a large one being lack of parental involvement in the home life, much less school life) and many potentially excellent teachers are choosing other career paths so that they can earn a decent living. Those who do go into teaching spend a disproportionate amount of time teaching to standardized tests to over-crowded classrooms, so that their school doesn’t lose precious tax dollars.
To say it’s a complicated issue would be an understatement; I wouldn’t begin to know how to fix our broken educational system, but we might start with paying teachers a more livable wage.
Yes pay a living wage that is for sure. It is complicated somewhat. The education system merely teaches answers now. There is no time for a real education for the student. Large classrooms large doses of schoolwork sent home. Too many teachers in it just for a paycheck not out of enjoyment. No parental involvement. Schools not listening to parents. Fedeal money being given to schools for kids that are diagnosed with a mental development problem, ADD, ADSD, ADHAD whatever other AD thingys they have now… For each child within that school that is on some sort of prescription and or diagnosed, the school gets Federal money… Little Johnny is misbehaving, convince the parents to get Johnny tested , here is the name of the local testing facility. yep little Johnny goes on medication now and sits perfectly quiet in class. how delightful half the class is drugged up and the other half are already controlled to mind numbing robots.
Its a mess. I agree with Imp… Dismantle it and start over.
If we make teaching the most sought after profession in America we would be taking a giant step for mankind. Fifty years ago we could find good teachers for low pay because women had no were else to turn. But today they have options.
Wouldn’t it be something if we paid both our teachers and our star athletes based on what they contribute to society? Entertainment is all well and good, but it irks me when these crybaby athletes boycott training camps until they are paid enough because “I’ve got my family to feed.” WTF?! Sprewell can’t feed his family with a $62mil/5-year contract? I’d love to see him live on a teacher’s salary. Teachers are so much more important than their salaries reflect.
From having a girlfriend and a mother who are teachers as well as working in a school mysefl I think I have a pretty good insight into this. The pay is not the problem, its that the job does not suit the salery. There is too much paperwork and not enough time to teach. My mother was at one point staying up untill 2am and going to work by 6.30am. Untill we made her cut back on extra duties. Still she works from home alot.
When I was going through school, in the sixth grade, there were two students in the class. One was a known genius and the other was being processed for deportation to a school for “special children”–obviously an underachiever.
The genius could spit out facts by the handfuls, and performed wonderfully for the class. The underachiever, well, they could hardly get him to talk.
And so, the one remaining requirment for shipping out the retard to a special class was a state ordered IQ test–just paperwork, you understand. Ever see an IQ tester get so excited he could hardly contain himself? It turned out the retard was smarter than anyone in his class.
Extreme intelligence produces, as the psychology books point out, people whom not even they understand. They think differently, they process information differently. They do not understand “normal” people.
Today I am a slave in this country. I am also a single parent. Everything I earn, is taken from me by force by the State of Michigan–because in this country there are no human rights remaining. The educational system, the government, can be no better than the fools that run them.
Children think they can become teachers, and expect to be paid for what they themselves do not understand or can teach. Plato was right, it is absurd for teachers to complain about the state of this country, when it was they who taught the children. Just absurd.
One of the things my Teacher taught me, in the Lucid Dreamstate–and in visions. I was never told anything, I have always been given an opportunity to make a choice. In other words, you can only provide an opportunity. Make the truth about the News available. There is a lot to be done.
Make audio books for free, of great thinkers, and even the not so great. Make video games designed for thinking. Focus on teaching the children–the adults are too far gone.
Crafts are very important, they learn how to manipulate the material, and from that they abstract concepts, Websites with plans and patterns.
But in all events, they must be given a choice, not a command, not a demand, but a choice. Let them know it is by their will, and let them use it.
And most of all, dispelling the myth that Lucid Dreaming is a free for all fantasy escape. Its a choice, to learn, to study, its pyschological, but its by choice. It teaches you about awareness and how to control it.
Well then, its time to use the mind for something other than crying about things. I don’t think you know what slavery is, at least not as bad as it is effected agains me. But I look at it this way, I am only one–what can be done for a real solution? Fight the depression, work out, but be constructive.
Education is the only path, when awake, and when asleep.
What makes me more of a slave? State and Federal Governments. I once gave a person a chance that no one else would. Someone born with a handicap. It cost me everything I have ever worked for or will ever work for. I get a bill for working every week. I have a 7 year old son to raise. The federal government demands over 50,000 in taxes they claim I owe, for money they took, The State of michigan too. How many people you know have to pay over 1200 a week in spousal support - - - - for life? When I am only a factory worker? How many people you know have had their sole means of transportation taken away to pay someone elses lawyer fees, being forced to ride a bike to work, while trying to support 2 babies and a wife–the one I married after the divorce of the handicap. Well, one of my sons is now dead. The wife ran off. Hypothyroid condition, messed up.
I get a bill for working every week. I get threats for not being able to make enough constantly. Well, it does not matter, as I said, I am only one, there are millions in this country that are victems of the "legal’ system, people taking what does not belong to them every day. This is a pathological society.
Nothing is right, never will be right, but I have to keep moving. Just keep moving.
People can look into the mirror, they don’t need to be told, they need a mind that is awake.
Besides, you think you can run from your fellow man forever? I still have obligations, I have taken care of my sister, and now taking care of my niece. They cannot help what they are. There is no place to run, nor is turning one’s back on a problem very constructive.

Why can one or more words be or not be predicated of another? What is the paradigm for the naming convention of conventional Grammar? What is a definition, and how does it differ from a description? What is Truth?
Of all the people in the world, I have the least to complain about, for you see, my life was saved deliberately. I should have been dead a long time now. I will continue to study, and write.
