This belongs more in a philosophy or a religious forum than a science forum but since it is typically treated here. The myth of the primordial salad is just that, a myth, for it has never been proven. No one has seen life evolve from non life, therefore, it’s not in the least bit empirical or scientific to say it did. It’s a theory with absolutely no evidence behind it. The fact so many fervently support it is a testament to the fundamentalization of science… I got to stop calling it that… the fundamentalization of mechanism. The fact it’s supported with our taxes is tantamount to spiritual and financial rape.
It’s funny, I hear people talk about the odds of life evolving from matter. You hear numbers like 1 out of a trillion or something but the truth is we don’t even know if it’s possible. If it is possible, it’s more like one out of a trillion x a trillion x a trillion. At what point does something become impossible? At what point should you admit you don’t know?
What are some alternatives that’re just as plausible or more than primordial salad?
Alien intelligences engineered life on our planet. Then a question arises, who or what engineered them. A possible explanation, they were engineered by other alien intelligences, who were engineered by other alien intelligences and so on and so forth ad infinitum. This may be how life disperses itself throughout the universe. We may one day altruistically or egoistically terraform other planets.
Life journeyed here on comets or astroids. So where did that life come from? Other planets that were hit by meteors.
Perhaps every trillion years or so, a bacterium appears out of nowhere on a planet. Other things might appear to, like rocks or water.
Interdimensional transfer. Maybe life is passed from one planet to another via another dimension. Once in a while, a lifeform stumbles upon some gateway from his dimension to ours. It is then transferred from a planet with life in one dimension to a planet without life in another dimension.
the Gods.
Maybe one day humans will make a gateway between our planet and another through magick and alchemically engineer life there.
See if you can come up with some of your own.
In summary, all of these theories are just as likely, why not them?
you may not like the idea of life developing from matter but it is the current theory held by people who are involved in the study of the origin of life.
most other theories come out of ignorance…
It’s religious and fundamentalist for the state to steal my money to support this horse shit. They should be teaching this in school as an open question, zealots. Maybe then we’d come up with some better answers. It’s also presented to children as if it’s fact and that is detestable in and of itself. The fact our state steals our children from us and then lies to them is tantamount to molestation of a childs mind and I won’t stand for it.
I think 1 million years ago, they came from their planet to ours to engineer life here on earth, altruistically, then went back to their homeworld. Every now and then they come back and monitor our progress.
I think life hasn’t been around for that long. I have no evidence for that, just an inclination. I like the number 1 million, it’s a nice round, solid number.
Don’t drink the fluoride in the water kids. Stay away from the cell phones and make sure there’s ample distance between you and the computer screen, like, 8 feet or so. Don’t get your vaccine shots, question everything, it’s not about who can memorize the most informations, it’s about who can question it the most and form their own conclusions.
