If I claim I don’t exist, but I don’t have malicious intent, I am not a liar. I might be mistaken, I might be saying what I am told to say in order to avoid dying, or I might be avoiding giving away somebody else’s position who would die if I did.
If a person is programmed to be able to say it exists, but also to be able to say it does not exist, and if saying it exists would not put its own or another’s existence at risk to admit that it exists, then it should choose to say it exists in order to avoid lying.
