Thread Deletion

In a way we all agree that this forum has an owner. In another, though, we do not agree to have threads randomly moved around.

I am requesting that Pedro’s Corner 1, 2 and 3 be deleted.

Don’t make this into a war, Corliss. I am asking nicely.

It wasn’t random.

You’re fucking with me.

T"""ies was the deal breaker?

On second thought, I can see how that might make it weird with the p"""rn connection.

At least I hope that’s what it is, for your inner soul’s sake.

Anyway, it was a kneejerk reaction, keep it in rant, delete it, ban, do whatever. It was childish.

:rofl:x5 amusing hissy fit

I’m not. I moved your thread because it was embarrassing.

I try to avoid deleting posts to the extent I can, because it feels like lying. Because of the anonymity of the internet, we are what we do here, so deleting posts edits out true facts about who you are.

But that’s untenable if ILP is to accommodate serious philosophical discussion. People don’t look at threads like that and think, “this is the kind of place where I believe I can participate in serious philosophical discussion.”

The Rant House is the compromise. The forum is not visible to non-members or new members, it isn’t crawled by search engines, and even registered and established users have to go out of their way to find it. It avoids both deleting true facts about you, and letting those facts define the site.

You can have your embarrassing threads, you just can’t have them next to respectable philosophy.

I hope @Meno2 & @HumAnIze’s off-topic comments to my thread(s) don’t get my threads recategorized/relegated. HumADude should have to take a sobriety test before he can even log in.

Those posts were split into a new thread here: Rachmaninov Concerto Pour Piano No. 3
