Follow your interactions with others and notice that the more you communicate with them, the more critical of what they write, say, do and don’t write, don’t say and don’t do is. It will happen in every sustained interaction here. You blame everyone else for this pattern. You are a cult of one.
Yes, that simple explanation in the abstract could explain a pattern that happens with someone. But that doesn’t actually explain the pattern that I described. It is as if I said ‘You criticize people and that’s bad.’
Again, you are free to assume and believe whatever you like, but just because you believe that there is some particular pattern, that never means that that pattern actually exists.
Are you even aware that you can make up your own personal truth or reality, which does not align with what is actually True and Real?
Well, of course. And this holds for you too, of course.
Of course. And this holds for you to obviously. Do you realize that it holds for you too? Or do you think that you cannot be wrong about what is True and Real?
So, you cannot make any mistakes about what is True and Real? Is that what you are asserting?
Are you saying that whatever you will tell us is True and Real (and false also?) is infallibly True and Real?
I’ll give you my definition now: A cult is a group, religious or ideological, characterized by excessive devotion to a person, belief, or practice, led by a charismatic, authoritarian leader or by several such leaders. These groups often use coercive control, deception, and isolation to manipulate members. The leaders often consider themselves chosen or as deities or other spiritual entities and consider themselves infallible on anything but trivial matters.
Now please answer my question: Are you saying that whatever you will tell us is True and Real is infallibly True and Real?
If I find I cannot question someone who I am following, I would then think I was in a cult - and I would stop following them. If a person asserts that they are infallible, that would eliminate my trust in that person, just as your assertion of this eliminates trust in you. Likewise institutions and organizations who do this. There are many other warning signs, missalignments, power plays, fallacious communication, ill-fit with reality, repeated ignorance of human nature, self-aggrandizements, manipulative communications and so on that set off warning bells and lead to distrust, disengagement, not treating them as sources of information, let alone knowledge and so on.
Edit: Thank you, I see you answered my question in the next post.
One of the key criteria of a cult leader is that they will directly claim infallibility or this will be implicit since they will never admit an error above something trivial. They are always correct and if people disagree with them, it is because they confuse personal truth or desire with absolute truth which only the leader reliably knows.
So, they will say things like what anew1 says:
I know how to differentiate between what is actually True and Real from what are just personal truths and realities.
There’s no way to falsify the claim, which is exactly the kind of reasoning used in manipulative systems.
If you don’t decide to end communication with anew1 other cult leader-like communication will arise.
Another similar response on his part here:
You believing that you are not in a cult means that you don’t even recognise which cult you are in. This justifies my assertion. That you don’t even notice that you are in a cult, also justifies my assertion.
Also, great reluctance to admit mistakes that are not trivial.
I do not care what you personally put your trust in or not. I have just been waiting for you to answer the actual question I asked you only.
Now, why do you follow others?
Here you speak as though you know reality, itself. If another’s personal reality does misaligns with your own personal reality, then you will just distrust and dismiss them wholeheartedly and automatically. Which is a clear sign of your own self-aggrndizement. Which also shines through by your subtle claim that you also know what is human nature exactly.
The fact that this indirect claim of yours, along with your other indirect claim that you know what reality is exactly, is a very manipulative communication on your part. Which, from your own conclusion, sets off warning bells and makes you yourself one that even you would not trust, you would disengage from, would not followed, and would not treat as a source of information, let alone a source of knowledge.
You really do have a funny way of reading my words, as well as writing your words and questions sometimes.
Again, I will suggest you become more open and read my words from a far more open perspective. See, if and when you do, then you will not come to infer arrive at some of these more funnier conclusions of yours.
The fact that you recognise some of the mistakes I make and you notice some of my incorrect wordings, which I also point out and make note of, but which you sometimes miss, already answered your question here.
That you sometimes miss what I write, and misunderstand what I mean on many occasions, never means that there is no possibility I will assert something that is not True or not Real. The fact that I have claimed on many occasions that I have wrongly and incorrectly asserted some things, already provided the answer for the question you asked here.
