Woke

Once:

“But for us philosophers of the future, what do we need to do to intentionally produce what all genius has heretofore only for-shadowed? A truly active consciousness? It involves a new way of valuing, of creating morality.” - Parodites

You speak as though it is only the boomers who lose. The way things are going, we will return to a state where there are only the haves and have-nots, no middle class, just rich and poor. There may be the ‘useful’ whose service helps them to rise above poverty, but this relies on them being useful and opportunistic and prepared to betray the poor, and as soon as they are no longer useful, they’re gone.

This is the way history repeats itself.

never mind this

The Danger of the Woke Right
Roger Berkowitz
arendt@bard.edu

Thomas Chatterton Williams, Senior Fellow at the Arendt Center, argues that right-wing wokeness will simply further the wokeness wars instead of finally pushing us past them.

Of course. As long as there are political objectivists on both sides of any particular moral conflagration, there will be wokeness. The only real distinction here, in my view, is between those who either do or do not emphasize “my way or the highway”, “one of us vs. one of them”, and/or “or else”.

Williams writes:

"Donald Trump promised that his election would free Americans from ever having to worry about saying the wrong thing again. He even signed an executive order titled “Restoring Freedom of Speech and Ending Federal Censorship.”

Right. And, of course, Donald Musk and their ilk are completely tolerant of those who speak out against them. So tolerant that, in fact, they just “cancelled” the use of hundreds of words used by those in the federal government. They are cancelling entire programs and policies and departments. Why? To bring the government more in line with their own “wake up, America” dogmas.

But that’s never “woke” from their frame of mind. Liberals do woke, not them.

Or, perhaps, for those like Elon Trump, we should just “follow the money”?

Thus…

In other words, they are…frauds? They insist it’s all about social, political and economic justice when it’s really all about bringing crony capitalism more in line with state capitalism. “Just us”, in other words. Of course Trump, Inc. embraces dictators around the globe. After all, when Trump becomes one of them…?

It’s really only a question for some of whether or not that’s been “the plan” all along. Make it all about DEI instead of Wall Street.

This part…

…which, I suspect, some here would like to scrub from PN as well.

edit; both sides suffer of ideological fervor, that is true, but you equate woke with ideology in general, because the word resembles ‘awake’…

woke is a particular very aggressive anti-natural and anti-cultural ideology (its ban on the word ‘mother’ should say enough) and it should not be surprising that it evokes strong resistance.

but you know this.

edit; both sides suffer of ideological fervor, that is true, but you equate woke with ideology in general, because the word resembles ‘awake’…

“Woke is an adjective derived from African-American Vernacular English, originally meaning alertness to racial prejudice and discrimination. It is synonymous with the General American English word awake.” wiki

So, it all comes down to what someone believes others should be alert regarding. It could be race. It could be gender. It could be sexual orientation. It could be any issue whereby those on either side of the political divide insist only their own assessment counts.

Right makes [justifies] might they will remind us.

Though again with those of Donald Musk’s ilk, it may well revolve instead around “show me the money”. Around power. Around narcissism. Around revenge.

Around fascism?

Ok so you ignore it is a specific movement and want to reduce it to a mere word, so as to be able to completely ignore what that movement has become and been doing to the western world, such as encouraging and normalizing the sterilization of children. It has come a long way from standing up to racists.

How do these words speak against them?

White liberals view blacks as voter cattle and as little poor victims who need saving and who can’t be responsible for themselves.

Yes, woke is another step foward in the cultural and sociopsychological evolution-adaptation of marxism. It is, in effect, very little else other than this.

“Political correctness is fascism by another name.” -George Carlin

And what is woke other than an attempt at peak political correctness? ALL forms of political correctness reduce back to marxism/communism. This isn’t about being polite or regular old societal norms of appropriateness. This is political and intentionally so.

Like under communism, everything becomes political. Everything. Nothing is spared the reach of the State. And woke is just another push in that direction, developing more of that substance goo to spread and infect our world and the naive child-like minds of the people living here.

That fact remains that in Key states black districts have been the target of mass reporting, accusing of voter fraud and termporarily suspending in time for the election.

This video is bullshit.

The white girl makes a point about Florida, not the Bronx. So why ask New Yorkers.??

There is a generalised set of problems with this sort of reporting.

  1. Selection Bias – The reporters choose specific individuals to interview, often unintentionally favoring those who align with a particular narrative or perspective.
  2. Sampling Bias – The people interviewed may not be a representative sample of the broader population, leading to skewed or misleading conclusions.
  3. Confirmation Bias – Journalists may subconsciously seek out opinions that align with their own views or the expected angle of the story.
  4. Framing Bias – The way questions are worded can lead interviewees toward a particular response, shaping the overall message of the segment.
  5. Editing Bias – Selective editing can exaggerate or distort public opinion by emphasizing certain views while omitting others.
  6. Sensationalism – Reporters may prioritize dramatic or extreme opinions to make the report more engaging, even if these views are not representative.
  7. Demographic Bias – If interviews are conducted in a specific location or among a particular demographic, the responses may not reflect the diversity of opinions in the broader community.
  8. Cultural or Language Bias – Some individuals may be more comfortable expressing their views than others, leading to an overrepresentation of certain groups.
  9. Availability Bias – The opinions included are those of people who are present and willing to speak, which may not accurately reflect the full range of perspectives.
  10. Authority Bias – If well-spoken or confident individuals are given more airtime, their views may seem more credible, even if they do not represent the majority.

Because of these biases, vox populi reporting should not be treated as a definitive gauge of public opinion but rather as a snapshot of individual perspectives. Balanced reporting requires careful selection, transparency, and context to avoid misleading audiences.

Well, if you believe this speaks for them, we’ll just have to agree to disagree.

And just out of curiosity where does astrology fit in here? “Woke” derived from the position of planets and stars and moons?

Or have you yourself been woken up regarding that?

.

“Which of course Carleas and other leftists think is not at all any indication of a dangerous influence having entered our lands.”

I do feel that we are are being listened to -well here in the UK anyway- and the overly-outspoken Muslim voice is being tempered as we speak… but the lives lost in getting here are no compensation for that.

The month we were born in forms our psychological-disposition and overall character, it being season-dependent.

I, being born in November, am ripe for psychopathy…

Ok Iamb I have known you for nearly two decades. I should know by now that for you words are just things to play around with to sound clever to yourself. Ive never seen you honestly address another persons post, never seen you not try to use a person for your postmodernistic masturbation. Well once, in a film thread, a post about apocalypse now. But that was ages ago. It was nice though. Film seemed to humanize you, force you into an actual perspective, a character.

In the meantime wokies are now attacking Bernie because he thinks people should not enter the country illegally. Calling him a racist and an evil retard.

He should have been the one to run against Trump in 2016. I wouldn’t have supported Trump then I think, I would have stayed neutral, enjoying the spectacle.

I wonder where US healthcare would have been now if he had run, and won.

Someone accurately expressed what most disturbing (and woke) about Clinton:

“Throughout the election she looked like she thought that the presidency was owed to her. She expected a coronation with her as the only legitimate heir.”

She seemed to find it absurd that anyone would oppose her.

Sun signs are important but as I read it, astrology is most of all about geometry, about aspects between planets. That determines the tensions and harmonies in the life. Why it works I dont know, but it does, very exactly. It suggests we are in a higher form of order than we can directly perceive.

To that point, what would be the chances of the moon being able to exactly eclipse the Sun, if the solar system came to be randomly? Almost zero.

Barack Obama has had multiple assassination plots against him thwarted. 13 people were arrested for plotting to kidnap Gretchen Witmer, Democratic governor of Michigan. Nancy Pelosi’s husband was attacked in his house with a hammer.

Jo Cox, UK Labour MP, was assassinated by a white supremacist in 2016.

Walter Lübcke, CDU policitician, was assassinated by a neo-Nazi in 2019.

It’s a very bad thing that Wilders is afraid for his life, but he’s not the only politician being targeted, and Islamic extremists aren’t a unique threat – I won’t pretend there aren’t religiously motivated attacks on this list of assassinations in Europe, but they don’t dominate the list, and right wing extremists are well represented in recent years.

It’s dangerous to be a politician.

And still, even though they murder, you are against nazis and white supremacists, aren’t you? What kind of argument are you trying to make? You want more nazis to come into the country? Nazis are harmless?

In the Netherlands it’s been the far left and the muslims doing the high profile threats and murders by the way. A leftist murdered would be anti EU and islam prime minister Pim Fortuyn. He was released from prison after 12 years or something like that. Minor offense.

Great point, the ratio of the size of the moon to the size of the sun is basically exactly the same as the ratio of the distance between earth and moon to the distance between earth and sun. It allows for perfect alignment, something that, in conjunction with the abnormally large size of our moon as it is, indicates design.

Either that, or there is some unknown natural cosmic law that favors the evolution of life only on planets that happen to coincidentally have a moon just perfectly sized and distanced so as to be capable of making a perfect eclipse every now and then across the planet. I can’t imagine how that would matter in terms of the evolution of life, although it could be a narrower band of statistical possibility given the narrow range of the goldilicks zone. But still.

The sad thing, for me anyway, is that we will never know. Maybe when we die things are revealed. But even that is an unknown until we actually die and get to experience it for ourselves. But until then, assuming it is even a thing that we get to experience higher truths when we die, for now the massive weight of the unknown truths is still crushing and disheartening. We can pick up little pieces here and there, form hypotheses or make an educated guess and see where it takes us, and we should be doing those things… but direct knowledge, access to truth in these higher areas, is now something we have. Well at least I don’t have it, maybe some of you are in some kind of secret clubs or whatever that share these kind of truths; then again, how would you even know if the things shared in such places are even accurate? First hand knowledge seems required.

Anyway, this is off topic so back to woke bullshit…

VO predicts these things, that the universe comes about in perfect ratios and magnificent harmonies (valuing to valuing, not neutral causality) also how life evolves as beautiful creatures rather than blobs… which also do of course exist on lower orders.

It seems to me the universe came about in higher dimensions before it manifested in physical reality. The coincidence of the big bangs exactly sufficient speed of expansion is also too much.

Then again maybe it was designed. But I always intuited that VO was sufficient.

I’m trying to say that the fact that one politician’s life is a risk from a subset of a particular group says very little about how we should treat that group as a whole. Politicians are threatened and killed frequently, by people with all kinds of political ideologies.

You mention threats from the left, so let’s go with that. In 2017 a Bernie supporter shot a Republican member of Congress. What should we conclude about Bernie supporters? Should we ask immigrants if they support Bernie before letting them in? Should we even slightly prefer non-Bernie supporters? It doesn’t seem so. It seems like this guy is clearly outside the mainstream of Bernie supporters (even though he’s also pretty clearly not the only extremist Bernie supporter), and we should attribute his actions more to his extremism and not his support for Bernie.

So no, I don’t want Nazis, and I don’t want Muslim extremists, but it doesn’t follow from that that I should want to exclude the right generally or Muslims generally.

Me too. The sadness of this realization is like a tinnitus in my philosophical thinking.

What is VO?
