Your favorite Biggy quote

Mine?

“Demonstrate your point in such a way that all rational and virtuous men and women would feel obligated to agree with it.”

But then there’s…

“How to close the gap between what you think you know and all you would have to be know…”

“Way up in the intellectual contraption clouds”

“We need a context”

^ I almost can’t decide… almost… but at the end of the day, nothing tops Biggy’s “all rational men and women” challenge. But that’s just me. What about you?

(Note to others: … I don’t know, just seemed appropriate to say that.)

Note to self:

Gib is Big backwards.

At least he has enough self-awareness to admit his “fractured and fragmented” mental state.

So many great quotes. He has a way with words… a way to use them without actually saying anything, that is.

Nature to flannel: click

…which is also somehow rooted in dasein.

And then the part where he says “and then the part where…”

OMG! I’m having an existential crisis! :open_mouth:

Let’s explain that.

There are far too many. I love quotes.

I could start with this one from Stirner:

“Whoever will be free must make himself free. Freedom is no fairy gift to fall into a man’s lap. What is freedom? To have the will to be responsible for one’s self.”

Perfection.

Another one, from Goethe:

“The human race is a monotonous affair. Most people spend the greatest part of their time working in order to live, and what little freedom remains so fills them with fear that they seek out any and every means to be rid of it.”

Are you saying that he didn’t have his own material? He responded directly below his quotes. Granted, he didn’t initiate the response, but whoever did is ontologically prior to/in all communication.

Here’s s’more on the theme of freedom and liberty, which the falsely powerful have used to manipulate people, btw… yeah, I know, total newsflash.
