That seems correct. Trump signals the impulse to a three-polar military world with his invitation to China to partake in a deal for Ukraine. Europe is not ready to be a military entity yet.
If the EU persists in what it signaled in response to Vance’s speech in Munich, it will invite Ukraine to become part of it and then will, given that it is not going to be part of NATO for the foreseeable future, and given the likely instability of the Russian-Ukrainian border that is about to be set, trigger a military organization from and for Europe itself. That will maybe in turn trigger some form of self confidence and maybe self-respect, which Europe has been lacking since WWII.

I understand it is probably painful to watch actual speeches by the people you so hate and you have to go by the commentary, I find it difficult to sit through speeches of leftist ideologues as well. But all leftist media (and in Europe that basically means all media) unequivocally distorts basically everything Trump and his allies say. It is a truly bipolar ideological world, and I don’t know what might bridge the gap.
