If nicotine helps symptoms, should nicotine be provided in the form of cigarettes which cause a variety of diseases?

Why should I do that?
I have smoked a few packs of cigarettes in my life. I understand the buzz.
I have lost a few friends and relatives to lung cancer caused by smoking. I understand that as well.
The theory is that nicotine itself is not as good as tobacco, nobody understands all the symbiotic relationships between the tobacco chemicals, but schizophrenics given the choice between just nicotine and non-additive tobacco, pick the non-additive tobacco.
My mother has had schizophrenia for about 20 years. I can have a first hand look at it any day of the week. 
A pure drop of just about anything will kill you Phyllo, nicotine is one of those substances. Even pure water kills over time (the WHO (world health organization) is against purified water because it doesn’t provide the vitamins and minerals necessary to support life)

I get that you’re frustrated because of your mother and the people you’ve seen die of lung cancer… but that doesn’t make my arguments wrong Phyllo.
I do smoke, and I hope you read this entire thread. The argument to raise the age to 25 came out in the paper today (which is why I posted it in politics - but Uccisore hates me so he moved it).

I’m not frustrated because my mother is sick and because people have died of lung cancer… I’m frustrated because you spew nonsense and you may produce dumb behaviors in others.
I’m basically a libertarian. People should be able to kill themselves by doing dumb stuff. But that dumb stuff should not be encouraged. It should not be made too easy. It should not be marketed to kids and stupid people.

What I’m saying is the nicotinic compounds are well known to reduce the symptoms of schizophrenia… the problem, and this may annoy the fuck out of you, is that you can’t patent tobacco or niacin, and the industry is patent driven. (You can patent chemicals put in tobacco). I also never said we have a cure for schizophrenia.
The research on nicotinic compounds helping the symptoms of schizophrenia is probably not online, though we did have a wikipedia link that said 80% of schizophrenics smoke cigarettes compared to 20% of the population. The thread isn’t that long Lev.
You guys have to understand, this isn’t conspiracy theory… there’s NO MONEY in using nicotinic compounds to reduce the symptoms of schizophrenia, there’s actually MONEY in attacking it. The tobacco companies are in a tight spot because they’re not allowed to admit that the 600-800 chemicals that they put into cigarettes causes more harm than not putting any at all in them, because they’ll get SUED UP THE ASS!!! Plus, you can’t patent tobacco itself, it’s impossible. There are WAY more carcinogens in cigarettes from these companies, than from tobacco grown and smoked in your yard… not just 3 more like phyllo said, but HUNDREDS more.
I’m old enough to remember the tobacco lawsuits, I read on the FRONT PAGE of the paper the average list of 800 chemicals added to cigarettes from the tobacco companies in print, I read ALL 800 of them.
If tobacco cured/treated/relieved schizophrenia, then the tobacco companies would be promoting it as much as possible.

It’s only a small percentage of the population phyllo. Tobacco companies want EVERYONE to smoke. They can’t go that direction, because they’d be saying that nobody else should smoke. Think about it. You’re the president of a tobacco company interested only in profits…
That’s called politics and profits Phyllo… trust me, they have advisors for this stuff.
