What is normal

Normal can mean many things. Normal health, normal feelings, normal intimacy and so on. Most people have a general idea of normal. My philosophy is that normal is defined as something that makes us all connected. It can be earth, nature, cow’s milk, a paper to write on, or school. The stars at night is kind of a normal thing, we see that the moon connects us in the sky. The milky way, the moon’s made of cheese.

The higher the level of something, the more connected we are. Spiritual connectedness being the highest.

It’s hard to define normal on a planet with over 8 billion humans that are all different and unique.

But we try anyway, and that’s fair enough, normal gets things done, gives us something to agree on, but not everyone fits into the “normal” box, and it’s usually the ones that don’t that give the world something new, so normal is fine, but “abnormal” is important too.

But what you mentioned, a higher level of normal that unites us all without a doubt, that’s a cool philosophy.

You mean as opposed to totally creepy?

The only definition of normal that makes any sense is normal means the typical case.

Ach just trying to be nice, but fair do’s.

There was a time and a culture when Nazism was normal. Normal is common. Normal is democratic. Normal is the diseased lower fruit. But extremism is even worse than normality.

What if extremism is the new normal, and what used to be considered normal is now considered extreme?

Confusion. A fools wisdom.

.
Extremism, is when terrorism is involved.. so let’s not be duped into thinking that logical reasoned arguments contra immoral actions, signifies extremism.. Pa-lease!

I absolutely love the time you said… and I quote:

Don’t tell another woman’s husband you love him or have deeper convos with him & spend more convo time with him than she does, and stay out of his private messages—because if he was your husband, you’d want to be that for him, rather than some other chick being that for him, or you wouldn’t have bothered getting married.

That super resonated with me. I knew then… in that very moment… your head was def not up your a$$.

Normality is simply predictability and adaptation. Not more and not less.
A child soldier in africa has to settle with the reality of his situation. Either he internalizes the sheer horror he is living through as normalcy by adapting to it and predicting how it works, or it dies.
A western nepo baby born to a billionaire couple in silicon valley settles for a reality of having everything they wish for and a life devoid of needs.
A feral child raised by animals, such as Dina Sanichar or Oxana Malaya will internalize yet another idea of normalcy, one which a civilized human being wouldnt even be able to contend with.

The idea of normalcy being baseline laws of reality connecting us such as the sky above and the earth under our feet is a nice idea, and surely can be used as foundations for common denominators. It would also probably work for most civilized people today.

But its also naive.
There are human beings out there with a concept of “normal” that wouldnt even be able to articulate what a sky above or the ground beneath their feet is.
They have adapted to a normalcy you wouldnt really want to think about.

Normally I wouldn’t say this but, nice post.

There is a uniqueness in each of us. Unfortunately society and governing systems do not accept this disparateness and club us all into one. Each of us has a different potential that has to be expressed and realized in a unique way. In an attempt to establish the equality among people we have suppressed individual peculiarities which are most useful. For, happiness depends on one’s being exactly fitted to nature’s own work

People who could develop their potentialities are atrophied by the narrowness of their life. Encased by the stronghold of conditions into which they were born.

It is far more important to provide those who devote themselves to the things of the mind with the means of developing their personalities according to their innate constitutions

Yeah. But why do kids have to go to school?

…to get them normalized into the economic herd in the absence of their elephant fathers & usually mothers having been poached into the economic (or military industrial) herd after a childhood of grooming in public education.

…because that’s normal.

Note the bold emphasis I added that canceled out everything you were saying and in rest of your post.

Also note, social reformers blow up that whole “settle with” and “settles for” theory. Just because you never hear about what a reformer does on an individual level doesn’t mean it never happens. There are a lot of generational cycle jumpers. Because it is rare means total revolution is not necessary, as culture exists because every person is a person and it is impossible to live absolutely otherwise without going completely insane. There is a tipping point at which the predators don’t need the prey anymore and it would take divine intervention to interrupt the downward doom spiral, however.

Nothing more annoying than prey you don’t need anymore… recognizing your personhood even though they don’t “need” you, either.

But why do kids have to go to school?

To be indoctrinated into society. So they can live sanely and intelligently with others.

We can use society if only for functional purposes. However, since we rely on the benefits of organized society to survive, we are forced to become a part of it and contribute to its maintenance. Society does not “owe” anyone a living; to enjoy its benefits, you must play by its rules.

The status quo persists because humanity does not want to be disturbed. We rely on continuity, memory, and accumulated knowledge to build our sense of “self.” If you were to truly understand that the indoctrinated self is an illusion born of shared cultural conditioning, the whole structure of society—along with the social status quo—would collapse

So, persons all being persons & all, and culture being our cultivated domicile of co-creative expression of our shared personhood, it is not

…drumroll, please…

imposed from without or above (or below)

it IS…

silence

embraced innate (because eternal) co-creativity.

A state dominated by preying predators temporarily impedes that to its self-destructing irrelevancy.

Yeah its ironic, i admit to that. Should have said modern civilized human being, but thats not a debunking of anything i have said. Thank you.

It doesnt. Adaptation is not some trendy quirk your brain picks and chooses. Its a fundamental.
Your psyche adapts to your circumstances.
That does not mean that your circumstances cant change, so what you are saying is missing my point in both directions.
